MORE THAN 40 YEARS OF COMMITMENT TO OUR CUSTOMERS

1978 | Foundation of J. Prior (previously José Crioulo Prior & Filhos), a company founded by José Crioulo Prior focused in the production of irrigation systems and other plastic products for the agriculture sector. Presently, J. Prior is part of Prifer Group’s Plastic division.

1992 | Foundation of Prilux, a company focused on the retail, installation and sales support of the irrigation systems produced by J. Prior. Prilux also develops a wide range of custom-made solutions for the agriculture sector.

1995 | Foundation of Prifer | Technical Molds (previously Prifer | Industria de Transformação de Produtos Metalicos), a company initially intended to support J. Prior by manufacturing plastic injection molds and special tools. Presently, Prifer | Technical Molds (PTM) is part of Prifer Group’s Molds division.

2000 | Plastic division creates “Marlux”, a brand of irrigation systems for the agriculture sector.

2000 | Molds division starts its internationalization and expands its client base to other sectors, becoming an exclusive molds manufacturer for plastic and aluminium injection.

2001 | Foundation of Prirev, a company focused on highly advanced surface treatments and coatings such as WS2 and PVD, with both technical and aesthetic applications for a wide range of sub-materials and industries. Presently, Prirev is part of Prifer Group’s Surface Engineering division.

2002 | Molds division becomes certified to the ISO 9001 quality management systems norm.

2003 | Plastic Division becomes certified to the ISO 9001 quality management systems norm.

2007 | Molds division opens a second production unit to increase its production capacity to be able to meet market demand.

2007 | Plastic division expands its production capacity by investing in new and more modern plastic injection machines.

2009 | Molds division invests €10M in a new and more modern plant with more space, production capacity and new services. Besides molds production Prifer Group can also perform try-outs of molds and produce pre-series.

2009 –Molds Division expands its global presence by establishing Tecma in France, a company focused on managing global tooling programs for Prifer Group.

2012 | Acquisition of Prifer | Fundição (previously Fundifas | Ferragens e Fundição Injectada), a Company focused on Aluminium and Zamak high pressure injection. Presently, Prifer | Fundição (PDC) is part of Prifer Group’s Die Casting division.

2013 | Following PDC acquisition, Prifer Group initiates a deep organizational restructuring on this company by investing €12M in new and refurbished production infra-structures, machinery and people. 

2014 | Molds Division increase its production capacity by investing €4.5M in new machinery and expansion of its technical team. 

2014 | Prifer Group expands its global presence to Germany through Tecma.

2014 | Die Casting division increase its production capacity by investing 6M€ in new and more modern machinery for its milling, die casting and galvanic departments.

2015 | Plastic division’s Research & Development department becomes certified to the NP 4457 research, development and innovation management systems norm.

2015 | Molds division acquires MOP, a company focused on the production of smaller molds for the plastic injection industry. 

2015 | Die Casting division invests €4M in expanding its production facilities to additional 8,000 m2 to a total of 27,000 m2. 

2015 | Foundation of Prinemo, a company focused on engineering and development of products and processes, mainly to support Prifer Group’s industrial activity. Presently, Prinemo is part of Prifer Group’s Engineering & Development division.

2016 | Plastic division invests €8M to increase its production unit with additional 15,000 m2, with a new production layout and additional investments in production capacity and R&D.

2016 | Prifer Group expands its global presence to Russia through Tecma.

2017 | Foundation of Prifer SGPS, the holding company of Prifer Group. 

2017 | Plastic division initiates the implementation of IATF 16949 automotive quality management systems norm.

2017 | Plastic division invests €9M in a new and more modern plant dedicated solely to its try-outs and pre-series activity.

2018 | Foundation of Prifer | Metals (PMS), a company focused on metal transformation and multi-component’s assemblies of Prifer Group’s products. Presently, PMS is part of Prifer Group’s Metal division.

2019 | Prifer Group expands its global presence to Maroc by investing €3M in a plant for molds post-sales assistance.

2019 | Plastic division invests €3M increasing its production capacity with additional 5,000 m2 and new investment in machinery and technology.

2019 | Metal division invests €7M in new and modern production machinery, expansion of its assembly lines and technical team.
